Fly Fishing with George Daniel

Monday evening, the Canandaigua Lake Chapter of TU will hear from guest speaker George Daniel, owner of Livin on the Fly in central Pennsylvania and nationally known fly tyer, fisherman, and writer. This meeting is Monday, March 21st, and will be at the Canandaigua VA Medical Center Auditorium beginning at 730pm.

George Daniel has appeared on ESPN and OLN while competing in the Great Outdoor Games and the Fly Fishing Masters. He has competed around the world as a member of USA Fly Fishing Team and he is the author of Dynamic Nymphing and, his newest book, Strip Set.

George’s passion is to share this exciting sport with others through education/instruction, speaking engagements and guiding. After 30+ years in this sport and the multitude of life experiences, he has started "Livin On the Fly", a fly-fishing education/instruction and guide business. His base of operations is located in central Pennsylvania limestone country, which includes Spring Creek, Penns Creek, Little Juniata River, and Big Fishing Creek, to name a few.

We meet at the Canandaigua VA Medical Center Auditorium and begin at 7:30pm.

We will have our usual raffle.
So . . . Remember to bring dollars or flies!
An extra donation to help offset our cost to bring George to Canandaigua will be appreciated.

Help Wanted for the 1One Fly

The 1One Fly Challenge was a huge (huge-ah) success last year. Scott Feltrinelli is willing to do it again, but would like another hand or two. Want to help, and still get to fish? Send Scott an email. Please do it now, advanced work and planning is necessary. The date for the 1One Fly is Saturday, June 11th.

Trip to Belize Planned

I have arranged for a return trip to Belize and El Pescador Lodge. The dates are November 9-15. This trip is organized for TU members, but open to all. Currently I have reserved 8 spaces, but should still be able to add a few more if needed. Four places are already "spoken for". Easy fishing for bonefish, permit, and tarpon (well maybe not that easy). But, this is a great place to learn saltwater fishing and does not require much more that good rods and reels and warmwater lines. No wading gear, no special boots. Two rods, a 7 and a 9 or an 8 and 10 combination will do the job. This is also a good place for the non-angler to join you and relax at the pool, enjoy a trip to Mayan ruins, walks to town and more. The cost for anglers, exclusive of airfare, is $2,545, double occupancy. Please call me at 585.360.1812 or send me an email for more information or to hold space for you.
